Kellie Pickler was presented a Red High Heel cake from Mango Cakes. It was phenomenal! She received jewelry from Serendipity and boots from Elliotts Boots and Shoes. It was like Christmas and she was thrilled!

The Army Reserve's 844th Engineer Battalion *Featured on Voices From the Front with Gunner
Take a look at some great pictures that we've received from the soldiers of the U.S. Army Reserve's 844th Engineer Battalion.
The 844th Engineer Battalion is made up of men and women with special skills. Some are plumbers, carpenters and electricians. Their main mission is to improve infrastructure, building roads and buildings in Iraq.
The deployments are expected to last up to 15 months. The family readiness team will provide all sorts of assistance for the hundreds of family members left behind, but they still need help from the community.

Phil Vassar hosted a food drive at Cotton Eyed Joe....5 For Phil. Entrance to the show was a $5 donation or 5 cans of food. Second Harvest Food Bank was there and was the recipient of 5 full barrels of food and over $1,400! WIVK changed to Phil-FM for the day in honor of Phil Vassar.

The annual St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon is coming up again on Thursday, February 12th, 2009 from 9AM - 6PM. You have a chance to donate money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! All proceeds benefit the kids at St. Jude and their fight to find cures. Educate A Nation
Educate A Nation is a project developed by WIVK and the United States Army's 489th out of Knoxville to allow East Tennessee to help develop better schools for underprivileged Iraqi school children. WIVK will be accepting school supplies such as paper, pencils, erasers, glue, and more to ship to the 489th in Iraq to distribute to 5 new elementary schools in Iraq so that students there will have the opportunity to develop an education.
