The NBA today announced that L.A. Clippers forward Tobias Harris has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for Week 6 (games played Monday, November 19, through Sunday, November 25). This is Harris’ second career Player of the Week award (Week 4 in 2017).
Harris helped the Clippers to a 3-1 week behind averages of 24.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in addition to shooting splits of 56.5% from the field, 45.5% from three-point range and 91.7% from the free-throw line. He tallied a career-high tying and team season-high 34 points in Sunday’s win over Portland, capping a week in which he scored at least 24 points in three of the team’s four games and logged a team-high +13 in his 12-point performance against Memphis on Nov. 23.
Now in his eighth NBA season, Harris is averaging career-highs in points (21.5), rebounds (8.7), field goal percentage (52.5%), three-point percentage (42.7%) & minutes (35.1). He is the only player in the NBA currently averaging at least 20 points and eight rebounds, while shooting over 50% from the field and 40% from three-point range.
The Clippers sit atop the Western Conference standings at 13-6 and have won nine of their last 11 games and eight straight at home.
