Two Plead Guilty Following Months-Long Animal Cruelty Investigation in Knox Co.

Knox County, TN (WOKI) Two members of the same family pleaded guilty Friday, September 15 to animal cruelty following a months-long animal abuse investigation in Knox County.

As part of their sentencing, Michelle Burgess-Morris and her daughter Isabella Morris were ordered to complete 72 hours of community service and are banned from owning any other pets for the rest of their lives unless it’s a single service dog.

Another family member, Haylee Morris, had her case waived for a grand jury to review.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office filed multiple charges against the Morris family back in March after investigating a long list of allegations involving severe neglect and abuse of dozens of animals the family kept in their home on LeClay Drive.
