The Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Knoxville Police Investigating Anti-Semitic Materials in Knox County

Knoxville Police and the Knox County Sheriff’s office are looking into reports of anti-Semitic Rhetoric being distributed in the area

KCSO says they’ve received reports of anti-Jewish Rhetoric material at a residence. Detectives picked up the materials but the property owners didn’t make an initial report so detectives took one at the scene. No other details have been released.

KPD releasing a statement about reports of anti-Semitic flyers in West Knox County saying they are not aware of any credible threats and are urging you to notify police if you see anything.

Original notifications from Officials:

KCSO update – An update on the possible anti-Jewish rhetoric material. As it turns out, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office had no reports on file. Two officers were dispatched to pick up the material at the request of the property owners; however, the property owners didn’t make a report. To be thorough, Major Crimes Detectives followed up with one of the complainants. After speaking with the complainant, the Detectives did a report, canvased the neighborhood, and they made Ring notifications to the citizens in the area. 

At this time, the complainant doesn’t feel unsafe, and the material doesn’t apply to the complainant. 

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has experienced the same or similar incident to notify major crimes detectives at 865-215-2243. 

Citizens should also know they can call our Teleserve unit anytime to make a report over the phone at 865-215-2243.
