Greeneville, TN (WOKI) Almost 30 people are sent to the hospital Wednesday morning following two separate chemical leaks at a cheese factory in Greeneville.
Greeneville town officials say two separate leaks of anhydrous ammonia occurred at La Quesera Mexicana, a cheese factory located on Hankins Street.
Officials say six employees were taken to a local hospital after the first chemical leak was reported at 7:15 a.m. A second leak resulted in 23 additional employees being taken to the hospital.
Officials report those being treated are in stable condition, and the leaks have been secured; they add there is no danger to the public.
