Rural Metro Fire is reminding everyone to use caution when cooking at home after crews responded to a fire at a Knox County home

Jeff Bagwell with Rural Metro says crews were called to a home on Rifle Range Road last night (Tuesday).

They found a small kitchen fire on the stove and were able to quickly put out that fire and everyone in the home was safely outside when crews arrived.

The Red Cross is helping them with shelter.

Bagwell says kitchen fires are the number one source of fire in the United States and to use caution when cooking at home, including never leaving cooking food unattended.
