FORT WORTH, Texas – For the second time in three years, Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello will serve as a guest analyst for the MLB Network during its coverage of rounds one and two of the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft, which is being held at the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.
The MLB Network’s coverage of day one of this year’s draft is slated to begin at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday night, one hour before the start of the draft at 7 p.m. ET.
Tennessee fans can expect to see another impressive group of Volunteers selected in this year’s draft after having a NCAA-leading 28 players picked since 2020.
Under Vitello, UT has had 35 players drafted since 2018, averaging nearly six picks per year, and has produced at least seven selections in each of the last three drafts, including a program record 10 in 2022 and eight in 2023.
Projected first-round pick Christian Moore will join Vitello on site in Fort Worth as one of a select group of players who will be on hand for day one of the draft.
Other Vols that are expected to or have the potential to be selected in the 2024 MLB Draft include infielder Billy Amick, first baseman Blake Burke, outfielders Dylan Dreiling and Kavares Tears and catcher Cal Stark as well as pitchers Drew Beam, AJ Causey, Aaron Combs and Zander Sechrist.
