Tennessee Valley Authority says they will still able to meet demands despite having three nuclear reactors offline.
TVA spokesperson Scott Brooks says there is a reactor offline at each of TVA’s three nuclear plants.
The most recent reactor to go offline on February 8th is Browns Ferry, located near Athens Alabama.
It, along with a reactor at both Sequoyah in Soddy-Daisy and Watts Bar near Spring City, went offline due to electrical issues and not problems with the nuclear reactor.
Despite the outages, Brooks says TVA was still able to meet an all-time peak demand on January 22nd.
TVA did not specify when the units will return to service, citing competitive reasons.
