UPDATE: The victim from the deadly shooting that happened on Friday night in the area of Dandridge Avenue and Riverside Drive has been identified as Antonio Middlebrooks, 41 of Detroit, Michigan. At this time, a suspect has not been arrested or charged and the investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.

Original Story: Knoxville Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a deadly shooting that happened on Friday night in the area of Riverside Drive and Dandridge Avenue. 

At around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, KPD officers were dispatched to the aforementioned location on a report of an unresponsive man in the passenger seat of a disabled car. Officers determined that the man had been shot at least one time. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Based on the findings of the ongoing and preliminary investigation, it is believed that multiple gunshots were fired from another vehicle at the car the victim was occupying for reasons that remain under investigation. The unknown suspect vehicle drove away from the area following the shooting.
