The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals says a Clinton man’s 104-year rape sentence has been upheld.
Royce Scott Earley was indicted by an Anderson County Grand Jury in March 2020 on several charges, including rape of a child. He was later found guilty of two counts of rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery and other charges and sentenced to 104 years in prison.
Earley appealed the conviction, but District Attorney General Dave Clark says his appeal was denied and the sentence was upheld.
Several agencies helped with investigating the case, including the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
