Sweetwater, TN (WOKI) A bus driver with Sweetwater City Schools is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting one student and threatening another on the bus.
According to court documents, security video on the school bus caught the driver, Wendell Cleve Rice, yelling at two children on February 28.
Records indicate the video shows Rice yelling at a student to come to the front of the bus, where he allegedly grabbed the child by his jacket and told him to “shut up and be quiet.”
A few minutes after the initial incident, Rice also allegedly threatened to punch another student if he didn’t sit down before telling all of the students that “they are dealing with a different bus driver.”
He was charged with reckless endangerment and two counts of assault and was taken into custody on March 7 but has since been released on bond.
