KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Volunteers stayed in the top five of both polls this week following a road loss to No. 3/1/1 Georgia on Saturday. The Vols took the fifth spot in the Associated Press Top 25, while also ranking fifth in the USA TODAY AFCA Coaches Poll.
It marks the first time since 2002 that Tennessee has spent three consecutive weeks in the AP Top 25, doing so the first three weeks of the season that year.
This season, the Vols have spent 10 consecutive weeks inside the AP Top 25 poll and the last seven inside the top-10. It marks Tennessee’s longest streak of top-10 rankings since 2001 when the Vols went eight-straight weeks as a top-10 team.
Tennessee looks to keep its strong season rolling as it returns to Neyland Stadium for Senior Day against Missouri at noon ET Saturday on CBS. With Veteran’s Day on Friday, the game will also be the fourth annual Salute to Service, concluding a week-long celebration. Tickets for the game are still available in very limited quantities at AllVols.com.
