Claiborne County, TN (WOKI) Charges are pending against a 24 year old man following a fatal multi-vehicle crash Saturday in Claiborne County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 24 year old Brett Cook crossed the center line and passed in a “no passing” zone on State Highway 33 hitting a 1995 Ford F-150 head-on. The Jeep spun from the initial impact subsequently hitting a 2018 Mercedes G25.
The driver of the Ford, 51 year old Toby Walker was killed upon initial impact. Cook, his two passengers, and the driver of the Mercedes were injured. Two children were also inside the Mercedes; there is no indication from officials if they were injured.
The THP is handling the investigation with assistance from the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department.
