A Teen is Ran Over by Grandparent’s Truck

A 13-year-old girl is ran over by her grandparents’ truck in Cocke County.

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a home on Holly Court Way yesterday (Thursday) and found a Ford F-150 parked on top of a teen girl, identified by initials A.B.

The girls’ grandparents told police four people were in the truck when the grandfather was backing up. He realized he went too far and was going over an embankment.

The grandparents got out to try and free the truck and told the two minors to get out. One was able to get out safely but A.B. tried to get out of the truck when the back left passenger door knocked her down on to the ground, and the front left tire ran over her legs and abdomen.

Crews with the Cosby Fire Department responded and worked to free the girl.

A landing zone was set up at Cosby High School to take A.B. to the University of Tennessee Medical Center by LifeStar.

No word on her condition.
