Teen Killed by Knox County Deputies Had Posted About Selling Drugs Online, Search Warrant Says

Knoxville, TN (WOKI) The 18-year-old who Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies are accused of shooting dead earlier this month had a history of posting drug-related content to social media.

That, according to a search warrant wherein KCSO detectives suspected Daevon Montez Saint-Germain was associated with the Murdaville Mafia street gang, a subsect of the 98 Main Street Mafia Crips, who work out of the Montgomery Village apartment complex.

The warrant also targeted Saint-Germain’s Instagram account where investigators allege he made several posts advertising that he was selling drugs, even at school.

According to KCSO detectives, many of the posts contained pictures of marijuana, THC carts and cash, prompting the search warrant.

On January 3, multiple deputies responded to a home on Sevierville Pike to take Saint-Germain into custody, but the situation escalated and the deputies fired.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
