City of Knoxville to Offer Grant Funding to Tackle Homelessness and Housing

Knoxville, TN (WOKI) The City of Knoxville Housing and Neighborhood Development Department will begin on Friday taking applications from nonprofits for grant funding.

Nonprofits looking for funding will need to work towards two goals: reducing or preventing homelessness in the area and supporting low and moderate-income housing.

The money will come from the Community Development Block Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and the Homeless Grants Program, which is funded by the federal government and local dollars from the city.

Applicants who apply must also attend a technical workshop to be eligible for the money. Two options are available at the Public Works Service Center at 3131 Morris Ave:

Homeless Grants Program

  • Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

CDBG Program

  • Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Applications are due February 21 at 4:30 p.m.
