Knoxville, TN (WOKI) Sean Williams, the man who prompted a month-long manhunt after escaping custody in October of 2023, has been sentenced after being found guilty on all counts in his child sex crimes trial.
The 55-year-old Williams was sentenced to 95 years in federal custody.
Williams was charged with three counts of production of child pornography; specifically, court documents said he had several pictures and videos of minors that he assaulted in Johnson City, Tennessee.
“The evidence showed that Williams sexually assaulted each of the victims’ mothers while they were unconscious, around the same time that he took pornographic photos of their children,“ Rachelle Barnes with the Department of Justice said.
He took pictures of the first victim in 2008 and the other two on separate occasions in 2020.
Jurors were shown the pictures that included Williams’ hands, which showed a tattoo on his middle finger and a scar on his wrist.
Williams led law enforcement on a manhunt after escaping custody while being transported from Laurel County, Kentucky to Greeneville, Tennessee.
The case also prompted a lawsuit against Johnson City, which claimed police officers knew about Williams’ crimes but never charged him. The department has denied the allegations, and the city settled that lawsuit earlier in the month.
