The legendary Loretta Lynn‘s life story is set to hit Broadway in a new musical titled, Coal Miner’s Daughter. The production is set to star Sutton Foster, and is based on the iconic country singer’s film and book of the same name. People close to Lynn have been directly involved in bringing the musical to the stage, including her daughter, Patsy Lynn, and manager, Nancy Russell, with Lynn herself having personal input into the early stages of the project before her passing in October 2022. “As one of the last creative projects our mom was so passionate about, we are thankful that she had the opportunity to experience the initial stagings of Sutton’s sincere portrayal of Loretta,” reads a statement from Lynn’s family. “Mom absolutely fell in love with her and thought she was just the right person to play her onstage.” The musical is currently in the works, with no premiere date or ticket information yet released.
